The Indian Buildings Congress awarded the IBC award for the period 1999-2003 for Excellence in Built Environment on 8th June 2004 to the firm of E F N Ribeiro Associates through its partners EFN Ribeiro, Uday Pattanayak and Manjari Gupta. The award was given for Outstanding Innovative Design, Use of advanced materials and technologies and Outstanding Institutional Design for their project Reconstruction of G K General Hospital at Bhuj. The award was given away by HE the President of India Dr A P J Abdul Kalam at a ceremony at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. This building is the first Actively Earthquake Resistant, Seismically Base Isolated building in India and in its final stage of construction will be the largest such LRB
